Healthy Kids Dental
Healthy Kids Dental is a dental benefit program for Medicaid beneficiaries under the age of 21. It covers dental services such as
X-rays, cleanings, fillings, root canals, tooth extractions and dentures. Beneficiaries receive treatment from dentists who participate with Delta Dental’s Healthy Kids Dental program, which includes approximately 75 percent of Michigan dentists.
On February 1, 2012, the Michigan Department of Community Health expanded the Healthy Kids Dental contract with Delta Dental Plan of Michigan to administer the Healthy Kids Dental benefit in Mason, Muskegon, Newaygo, and Oceana counties. Medicaid beneficiaries under age 21 residing in these counties have been automatically enrolled in Healthy Kids Dental, which provides access to participating Delta Dental dentists. If you qualify for WIC, Medicaid or Bridge Card you are eligible to enroll in Michigan Community Dental Plan. $50 enrollment fee includes full set x-rays, new patient exam with the dentist and a treatment plan.Fees are 40% lower than private practice fees. Clinic accepts adult benefit waiver which covers extractions, exams, x-rays and then qualifies you for 70%off dental treatment costs.
