Food Service Sanitation - Inspections

The Food Service Sanitation program inspects food service establishments for compliance with the Michigan Food Law and the Michigan Modified Food Code using a “risk-based” inspection strategy. This type of inspection focuses on how the following illness-causing risk factors are/are not controlled during operation of a licensed food service establishment.

  1. Poor personal hygiene
  2. Food from unsafe sources
  3. Inadequate cooking
  4. Improper (hot and/or cold) holding temperatures
  5. Contaminated equipment
