Test kits for drinking (well) water analysis by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources & Environment (MDNRE) Laboratory are available at the public health department. Fees vary with type of test requested. The standard water quality analysis to ensure water is safe for consumption includes coliform (bacterial) and partial chemical analysis.
If you have concerns about the taste, smell or texture of your water please contact the Environmental Health program for a free consultation. The sanitarians have limited office hours, so please call ahead.
Please Note: In order to obtain test kits other than coliform, partial chemical or lead - prior consultation with a sanitarian is required.
