Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine
HPV vaccine is available through the Immunization program. The HPV vaccine prevents cervical cancer and other diseases in females caused by certain types of genital human papillomavirus (HPV). The vaccine protects against four HPV types, which together cause 70% of cervical cancers and 90% of genital warts. The vaccine is given in a series of 3 injections over a period of 6 months. You must complete the series to get full protection.
Vaccine Cost
Most insurances cover the cost of this immunization if you are a female and 11-26 years-old. If you have health insurance, please visit your doctor's office for this vaccine so that your insurance can be billed. If you prefer to use our office, you will be charged any applicable fees. Payment is expected at the time of service.
If you have Medicaid, we can bill Medicaid for this vaccine. Please visit our office and bring your Medicaid card with you. You could also visit your doctor's office for this vaccine.
If you do not have insurance, please visit our office. The health department has a limited supply of HPV vaccine available at minimal or no charge to women who qualify. You qualify to receive this vaccine if:
- You are 19-26 years of age and female; and
- You do not have insurance or your insurance does not cover immunizations; and
- You are seen at our office for an STD exam or a consultation with a nurse.
Fee Schedule
The fee for this series of vaccine is $423.00 ($126 per dose, plus a $15 administration fee per dose).
