If you are planning on traveling out of the country, we encourage you to visit the Immunization program at least 4 weeks before your trip to receive the travel immunizations you may need. This service is provided for individuals on a walk-in basis, Monday-Friday, Noon-4:30 pm. Because of the length of time a travel immunization consultation may take, we recommend that you visit before 4:00 pm.
To find out what vaccines may be required in the part of the world you are traveling to, visit the Centers for Disease Control Travelers' Health website.

Malaria
The Immunization program does not provide medication for prevention of malaria infection. Please make an appointment with your doctor for a prescription for anti-malarial medication. Your doctor will need to call the CDC (770-488-7788) to find out which medication is recommended for the area you plan to visit. Once you have the prescription, you will have to call local pharmacies to determine who carries the medication and how much the prescription may cost.
